In a dalliance with myself
I sit and wonder,
how beautiful this world has made me.
I’ve embraced my self
much more than anyone else has ever even desired to.
I’ve loved the essence of myself
more than I have loved the atoms of you.
Because in this pretentious world,
you never cared to love me like I wanted you to.
With the false expectations
that fell like any beautiful waterfall,
I decided to love myself
more than you’d ever do.
